Anyone who wants to donate will be a PAC Member. This is not limited to only PFAM Members.

Nearly anything, yard signs, TV & Radio ads, flyers, compensation to members for work on campaign. Anything to do with local politics because your union dues cannot be used to endorse or support candidates.

YES. Anyone can donate any amount, e.g. spouse, girlfriend, parents, grandparents, co-workers, or other city employees.

It does a lot, it allows for PFAM to interview candidates to determine whom if any will help us in our cause. It allows for PFAM through MPAC to either donate money toward the candidacy or manpower for door-to-door, yard signs, etc….

Awards are based on contribution amounts.

Bronze- $20/Month or $240/Annually

Silver- $30/Month or $360/Annually

Gold- $40/Month or $480/Annually

Absolutely, we want input from everyone on the decision for endorsement and when these candidates get the questionnaire from us we want our membership to come up with questions to ask. Questions on what is important to them and the department.

The board is made up of PFAM members. There is a President & Treasurer and 3 trustees. All members will have a voice in the meetings.

Your money from dues is not used to fund political parties or candidates. The money given through the PAC fund is the only money that is used. There are laws in place to protect members from their dues monies being used in any election. The Texas Ethics Commission strictly governs this and enforces these rules. The Secretary of MPAC has to file 2 times a year on where the money comes from and where it goes…. If it doesn’t match up it gets investigated. Also our members at anytime can look at the records also.

Yes, you can donate one time a year or over several billing cycles.

Sure, there are only a few departments in the state that are organized as a Local that do not already have a PAC fund in place and actively using it.

Not really, you are providing help in getting him/her elected because they have agreed to stand up for firefighters and their needs.

The MPAC board looks for a candidate that has the interest of firefighters in mind. We want a candidate that will work with our Chief and the Local on our issues, and to educate the candidates on the fire department and how it operates.

Yes, there are many departments that have PAC funds, here are just a few, San Angelo, Lubbock, Abilene, Ft. Worth, San Marcos, Mission, El Paso, Austin, Waco, Amarillo.
